The Name of the school is Shabelle Primary School it has been established in 1993 by Somali teachers in particular area of the city where there were no schools. The teachers opened the Shabelle Primary School to provide the primary education to the students in that particular area who had been badly destroyed in the Somali civil war.
The teachers opened the school with the help of the community who were deeply need education for their war influenced children so that the teachers struggled to fulfill that heavy work for the community and later the number of the Shabelle Primary School students reached 600 children the quality of the education had been praised and appreciated by the community in the area.
Every student in that school pay very little amount of money as school fees to cover the teachers salaries.
Shabelle Primary School Objectives:
• To provide education to the Somali children
• To expand the school into secondary level for the students who might need it
• To provide tertiary education to the teachers to improve their teaching ability
• To educate the students who could not afford the school fees freely
• To create jobs for the professional Somali teachers
Shabelle Primary School joined STS Somalia member organizations in 2003 it has got a board committee consisting of the teachers and parents and some traditional elders.
