INTRODUCTION:
The Somali teachers Union was formed in Mogadishu, Somalia in 19, February 2001 its formation was caused by lack of professional teachers for the Somali school functioning after the civil war, so it become necessary for the teachers to held a meeting in Mogadishu to assure the availability of professional teachers for the Somali schools to avoid education negligence in schools, As result the meeting announced this Union to control the education process in our country as there is no central government to do this important job for our country.
THE STU MAIN OBJECTIVES: To develop the education system in Somalia, To arrange further education for the teachers them selves, To restore the education curriculum and conduct it to the Somali school, To make a teachers club, in order to establish discussion among teacher for future progress of education.
FURTHER COMENTS ABOUT STU: Somali teachers Union has no financial support to move its activities from any relief organization but they are committed to do their work voluntarily counting on their own contribution financially. So we have to do our best voluntarily in order to become an example to follow for the other parts of Somali community.
We hope as we are a full member of STS Somalia member organizations to obtain moral and financial support from STS International Solidarity itself and we hope that our organization membership will be in great importance for the umbrella.
