THE INTRODUCTION:
The Women Hand Craft Foundation was founded by a group of women in early 1992 during the Somali civil war when the former government ended, there were no jobs for men. Then the women stander to fill the gab. So this foundation is one of the results of the men joblessness.
The foundation was first worked in the capital Mogadishu and later moved to the nearby cities and so on until it finally expanded to all over Somalia. The foundations idea was to create smaller income sources for the women to cover their living situation. And later to develop their income generation by getting some financial support from the International relief agencies. What the foundation was mostly getting its profits were, manual made cloths, such as: men coat, women coats, men underwear, children hats and t-shirts etc which were all made by hand.
THE FOUNDATION MAIN OBJECTIVES:

To establish training handcraft workshops for the women |

To teach the women how to read and write the Somali language especially to those who don't read and write |

To develop their handcraft system |

To teach them extra lessons on house management economically |
