WAHAR-ADDE SCHOOL PROFILE.

INTRODUCTION:

Wahar-adde school is functioning in Somalia recently. The school function is now strongly depend on the community financially. If we go back to the previous times Wahar-adde was the largest school in Wahar-Adde district during the former government. It was a primary level, elementary and intermediate, with more than one thousand students plus the new enrolments each year.

The school has been totally collapsed during the civil war leaving behind no trace of the school left to even recognize its location. When the civil war ended in that part of the city the community needed the school, so with the help of former school teachers reached to make contributions in order to rebuild the school and suggested the teachers to start teaching voluntarily the teachers accepted the community suggestions easily and started their voluntary teaching at that newly rebuilt wahar-adde school.

After several months the community elders and teachers had a meeting focusing on how to provide a financial assistant to the teachers, so they finally agreed to collect very few amount of money as a school fee from the students to cover at least 1\3 of the teachers need. Ever since the school made a fruitful development, but we still had a problem on largamente of the school. The school building is not sufficient for the students even if we made three shifts per day.

THE MAIN OBJECTIVES OF WAHAR-ADDE SCHOOL :

1- To collect UN wanted children and orphans to provide free education
2- To create jobs for the professional teachers of Somalia
3- To revive the lost curriculum based on Somalia system of education
4- To alleviate the existing difficulties in education

CURRENT PROBLEMS:
1- Lack of sufficient building for learning, after the school was destroyed in the civil war
2- Shortage of teaching help equipments
3- Lack of assistance from local and international NGO s
4- Lack of refunding to repair or rebuild the school

WAHAR-ADDE SCHOOL FUTURE PLANS
1- To open a secondary school
2- Availability of the school building at any convenient time
3- To provide seminars to improve the teachers education

CONCLUTIONS: As our school is fully a member of STS Somalia umbrella we are looking for ward a progressive collaboration and preparing a good ground for future relations
